Isn’t It Poetic? From William Blake to Edward Lear
Wednesday, June 27, VMFA Galleries and Studios, 10 am–4 pm
This workshop will relate to the exhibition called Great British Watercolors from the Paul Mellon Collection at the Yale Center for British Art , which will be on view at VMFA from July 11 to September 30, 2007. The exhibition includes works by William Blake, Edward Lear, and many other works inspired by poetry and poetic writing. This workshop will offer opportunities to explore creative writing and watercolor techniques.
Tobacco, Tea, and All the Ships at Sea

Don’t miss this exploration of Virginia’s first cash crop, the history of tea, VMFA’s Rule Britannia exhibition, the rise of the British navy, sea shanties, and more!
The Royal Treatment Teacher Reception , Wednesday, June 27, 6–8 pm
Celebrate the end of the school year at this entertaining evening filled with drama, interesting—and practical information, and lots of fun. Enjoy refreshments, mixing with colleagues, gathering classroom resources, performances—and a chance to visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Art’s Rule Britannia exhibition.
