Elementary School Technology Education

Technology education experiences in the elementary school are designed to help children learn and achieve the educational goals of the total elementary school program. These experiences orient pupils to technology, develop psychomotor skill, and provide the basis for informed attitudes about technology's influence on society. Technology-based activities, integrated into the total elementary school curriculum, motivate pupils and reinforce learning while pupils gain a technological awareness.

Technological Challenge!
Focus: Technological Awareness

The focus of technology education at the elementary level is to develop a technological awareness and to reinforce learning.

The elementary school child with technology experiences shall...

  • Explore how people create, use, and control technology.
  • Apply knowledge in mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, health, and fine arts in solving problems associated with technology.
  • Use tools and materials to explore personal interests with technology.
  • exhibit self-confidence through the use of technology.
