    • Emergencies Guidelines For Schools

    • Ohio Department of Public Safety.  These guidelines are color-coded, first-aid flowcharts intended to serve as an emergency care resource for  school staff without full-time medical or nursing support. More than 37 of the most common pediatric illnesses or  injuries are arranged alphabetically for quick reference. The guidelines also include a list of recommended first  aid equipment and supplies for schools and universal precautions to prevent or reduce the spread of infectious diseases. These guidelines are downloadable as either a printable .pdf file or a collection of zipped Adobe PageMaker formatted layout files.

    • This web site gives access to charts showing state   trends in adolescent suicide, homicide, and motor vehicle mortality from 1980 through 1996. Each chart  includes the state, HRSA Health Region, and national trends. Charts of the mechanism of suicide for the two age groups in each state are also available. Each chart contains a link that allows a viewer to download a MS Excel workbook that contains the data that generated the chart, as well as a high-definition version of the chart suitable for inclusion in a printed report.

      CSN provides technical assistance to organizations seeking to reduce unintentional injury and violence among children and adolescents. This site lists several injury prevention resources, many of which are downloadable. 
    • Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention

    • This site is an important resource for youth violence and crime prevention specialists. It addresses gun violence and conflict resolution in the school setting.
    • National Safe Kids Campaign 

    • SAFE KIDS is the leading national organization addressing unintentional injury prevention for children ages 14 and under. There are over 260 state and local coalitions. The site provides statistical factsheets on childhood injury, a resource catalogue, web links for each major type of injury, and a family safety checklist.
    • The Surgeon General's Call To Action To Prevent Suicide, 1999

    • Surgeon General unveiled a blueprint to prevent suicide This document outlines more than a dozen steps in preventing suicide that can be taken by individuals, communities, organizations and policymakers. These recommendations and their supporting conceptual framework are essential steps toward a comprehensive National Strategy for Suicide  Prevention.
