Ways To Use the
Leadership Development Curriculum on the Web
Are you an academic teacher?
Example:
My lesson focuses on SOL VS.1. What does the leadership
curriculum offer that will help me introduce or reinforce this standard?
- Click on SOL Correlations in the left column.
- Under Elementary School, click on Look up by SOL,
then click on Grade 4.
- Review the chart for Virginia Studies. Under VS.1, you will
see ES.6 and ES.7.
- Click on Student Expectations by Grade Level in the
left column.
- Click on Elementary School.
- Click on Activities that Support ES.6, and choose an
activity. Use the Previous/Next buttons at the bottom of the page,
or click on the back button to choose another activity for ES.6.
(Note: You can print out the activities one at a time.)
- After reviewing the last activity, click Expectations
at the bottom of the page, then click on Elementary School.
- Repeat Steps 6 and 7 for ES.7
Are you a career and technical education (CTE) teacher?
Example:
I’ll be teaching a new Criminal Justice course to high school juniors
and seniors next year. How can I integrate leadership into my course
instruction?
- Click on Student Expectations by Grade Level in the
left column, and choose CTE Course Correlations.
- Click on Trade and Industrial Education, and review
the column for Criminal Justice. Note that HS.1, HS.2, HS.7, and
HS.10 are reinforced in the Criminal Justice course.
- Click the Back button.
- Click on Student Expectations by Grade Level, and choose
High School.
- Click on Activities that support HS.1. After reviewing
your first choice of activity, use the Previous/Next buttons at
the bottom of the page, or click on the Back button to choose
another activity. (Note: You can print out the activities one
at a time.)
- After reviewing the last activity, click on Expectations
at the bottom of the page.
- Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for HS.2, HS.7, and HS.10.
