| The Preliminary SAT Scoring Service (PSSS) is a College Board testing service offered to schools, districts, and outreach programs. Its goals are to assist efforts to increase college-going options and to inspire students to plan beyond secondary school.
The PSSS is a previously administered PSAT/NMSQT, but PSSS results are not used by National Merit Scholarship Corporation or other scholarship programs. Like the PSAT/NMSQT, the PSSS provides comprehensive, personalized feedback on academic skills.
The PSSS is an excellent tool to use to select students for the AP Potential. Visit the College Board’s Web site for more information. The VDOE will be scheduling a conference call in March to discuss using AP Potential to schedule your students for the 2005-2006 school year.
Program Highlights:
- All 10th graders in NGA Honor Schools who did not take the PSAT in your school should take the PSSS. All fees will be paid with NGA grant funds.
- You will choose a date from one of two testing windows:
February 6-10, 2006 OR February 13-17, 2006.
- The VDOE will order all testing materials for your school.
- Each participating school will need to submit to the VDOE the number of 10th graders (excluding 10th graders who took the PSAT in October, 2005) who will be testing AND the testing date you have chosen, using the attached order form no later than Friday, November 18, 2005.
- After the test, each school will mail all testing materials to College Board for scoring.
Order Form - submit by November 18, 2006
