Resource to
Assist Teachers in Integration of Technology Into Classroom Instruction |
In order to assist school divisions to meet the
requirements of the Enhancing Education Through Technology (Ed Tech)Program, we
are pleased to make available a set of model lesson plans that illustrate the
effective integration of technology in instruction.
The lesson plans illustrate the relationship of
learning styles of students to a variety of instructional strategies that will
be strengthened through the appropriate use of technology tools. The creative selection and inclusion of
these activities and tools by the teacher will lead to an enriched
instructional environment.
The intent of this
resource is to provide information and models to teachers who are interested in
using technology to expand resources currently used in classroom instruction.
By incorporating these new tools into existing and new instructional plans,
teachers will find that they will broaden the educational experience for each
of their students.
The lesson plans were created to assist teachers in the
effective integration of technology in instruction. There are plans that
integrate Standards of Learning content at each grade level in each of the four
core content areas with the use of technology. Each lesson plan illustrates one
or more instructional strategies and how they support the manner in which
students learn and process information. The lesson plans were developed by
Virginia classroom teachers who are skilled in the integration of technology.
Teachers may feel free to replicate any of the plans in
their instructional program, or they may choose to modify them to suit their
instructional needs. Either way these model lesson plans should serve as
a valuable resource for the development and design of technology-rich
instructional activities and for the effective integration of technology in
instruction.
The lesson plans are
posted on the EdTech Web site at http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Technology/EdTech/LessonPlans/.
