SIG2 Award The U.S. Department of Education awarded $1.5 million a year to the Virginia Department of Education's state improvement grant (SIG2) for 2004 - 2007. This will total $4.6 million over the next three years and provide a vehicle to improve achievement for students with disabilities across the Commonwealth. One of the project activities is to support the planning and implementation of the Strategic Instruction Model - Content Literacy Continuum (SIM-CLC) in four schools in the state to serve as demonstration sites for three years (2004-05 through 2006-07).
