Class of 2008 (Five-Year Rates for 2004-2005 First-Time 9th-Grade Cohort)

Five-year cohort reports reflect the number of students who graduated with a Board of Education-approved diploma within five years of entering the ninth grade for the first time. Five-year cohort reports also include data on dropouts, students still in school, students on long-term leave and students in the cohort whose records were properly reported to the state but whose status is unconfirmed. Percentages are based on longitudinal student-level data and account for student mobility and retention and promotion patterns. |

Status of students in the adjusted cohort graduating class of 2008 including data collection through the Summer 2008. |
Notes on column headings and data:
- < indicates a group below the state definition for personally identifiable results.
- Only student subgroups represented in the state are listed.
- Long-Term Absence represents students who were on long-term medical leave, emergency family leave, and students who were expelled for one-year. These students have not earned a credential and were not enrolled at the time of this report.
- Unconfirmed Status represents students whose records were properly reported to the state but whose status is unconfirmed.
- Students with disabilities and students who are limited English proficient who were still enrolled in school were moved into next year's cohort, consistent with the formula approved by the Virginia Board of Education.
- Most subgroups are based on students' most recent status.
- "Anytime" subgroups include all students so identified at least once since entering high school.
