Preliminary FY 1997 School Division Allocations Safe
and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1994 |
Enclosed you will find the preliminary FY 1997 allocation tables for local school divisions. These preliminary figures are being provided to assist with planning for the 1997-98 school year. Tentative allocations for Virginia are as follows: Governor's Share (20%) 1,912,004 Virginia Department of Education(80%) 7,648,015 Total Virginia Allotment $9,650,019 Virginia Department of Education Programs and Administration 688,322 School Divisions (70% Entitlement) 4,871,785 School Divisions (30% Greatest Need) 2,087,908 Total to Virginia Department of Education $7,648,015 The enclosed tables provide estimates of school division allocations under SDFSCA State Grants at the level appropriated by Congress. According to guidance received from the U.S. Department of Education, there is a possibility that the amounts may be revised if updated population data from the Census bureau becomes available in 1997. Final notification of allocations will be made to school divisions in the spring of 1997 after the amounts have been confirmed by the U.S. Department of Education.
