Reprint of
2+4 in 2004, 2005, and 2006 Brochures |
The Virginia
Department of Education has reprinted the “2+4 in 2004, 2005, and 2006”
brochure that was originally distributed in January of this year. The brochure
is designed to help students and parents better understand the commonwealth’s
graduation requirements.
Reprints of
the brochure will be distributed beginning the week of December 8 to high
schools and combined schools in sufficient quantity to provide each student in
grades 10-12 with a brochure. Deliveries are expected to be completed by
December 19. Please advise principals to anticipate delivery of the brochures
so they can be distributed to students in a timely manner.
The title of
the brochure, “2+4 in 2004, 2005, and 2006” refers to the combination of units
of verified credit required for a Standard Diploma (two units in English and
four of the student’s own choosing) during the transition period covering the
graduating classes of 2004, 2005, and 2006.
The brochure
also provides information about the Advanced Studies Diploma and the answers to
frequently asked questions about graduation.
