SUBJECT:	WorkKeys: Writing Test – Passing Scores Adopted by the Board of Education

The Board of Education at its November 19 meeting adopted cut scores for the WorkKeys: Writing test. This test had previously been approved by the board for use as a substitute test for the Standards of Learning (SOL) end-of-course English: writing test. The board adopted a score of “3” on the WorkKeys: Writing test as equivalent to pass/proficient on the SOL end-of-course English: Writing test and a score of “4” on the WorkKeys: Writing as equivalent to a proficiency level of pass/advanced. Attachment A is an updated list of all tests approved as SOL substitute tests for verified credit and student-selected tests for verified credit. The newly adopted cut scores are in bold print.
