SUBJECT:	Lessons from the Bay

The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to provide teachers and school divisions with the Web site Lessons from the Bay (LFB). The Web site highlights grades 3 through 6 Science Standards of Learning by providing information along with a variety of classroom activities and projects related to protecting and restoring the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Lessons from the Bay is designed for elementary and middle school teachers to use as a guide in the instructional planning process for teaching watershed education in keeping with the state’s commitment in the Chesapeake 2000 Agreement. The LFB Web site includes a process model, an instructional framework, a set of lesson plans, a project action guide, and a glossary of wetland terms.
