Title VI,
Rural and Low-Income School Symposium |
The
Department of Education is pleased to announce a Title VI, Rural and Low-Income
School Program Symposium entitled “Rural Schools: Building Upon Their Strengths.” This symposium will address topics such
as: 1) what rurality
requires of principals; 2) reusing resources; 3) best fiscal management
practices for rural schools; and 4) characteristics of professional
communities.
The symposium
will be held at The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center in Roanoke, Virginia. It will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February
9, and conclude on Friday, February 10, 2006, at 2 p.m. School divisions that are recipients of Title
VI funds are invited to send the Title VI coordinator or another representative
to the symposium.
The Office of
Continuing and Professional Education at Virginia Tech will manage the
registration. Please fax the attached
registration form to Terri Sadler, program coordinator, at (540) 231-9886 by Friday,
January 20, 2006.

Breaks and lunch will be provided, lodging and parking will be master
billed, and travel will be reimbursed in accordance with state guidelines.

required, a reservation must be made directly with the Hotel Roanoke prior to Friday,
