OMEGA – Even
Start and Reading First Grants |
We are
pleased to announce that reimbursement requests and object code budget
transfers for two additional grants may now be submitted via the Virginia
Department of Education’s Online Management of Education Grant Awards (OMEGA)
system:

user setup forms with instructions, a detailed User’s Guide, and access to
online training opportunities are available at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/omega/.
The completed user setup forms should be mailed to
the following address by December 22, 2006:

A minimum of two user permission forms must be submitted by each school division because someone other than the transaction originator approves each request before it is submitted to the Department of Education. We have established the “Approval Queue” with the minimum requirement of one Level 3 Approver for each type of request. The number of required local approvals for any Approval Level may be revised by the local OMEGA “Maintenance User” before any transactions are input, or at any time when there are no active requests. Please refer to the online instructions referenced above for assistance with establishing your school division’s approval queue.
It is expected that paper copies of reimbursement and object code transfer requests for these two grants will not be accepted after February 9, 2007.
As additional grants become available for reimbursement through OMEGA, you will be notified by Superintendent’s Memorandum. Your division’s input continues to be greatly appreciated.
