Prevention
Through Information (PTI–VA) Data Collection Training Workshops |
In
collaboration with the Center for School-Community Collaboration at
PTI Data Collection
Workshops will
focus on approaches to ensuring data accuracy; validity and reliability;
appropriate classification of incidents; and reporting of disciplinary
actions. These workshops are designed
for school division administrators responsible for or involved with the
collection and submission of discipline, crime, and violence data, including
building and central office program and data administrators.
Also developed as a product of the
PTI-VA initiative is an online tutorial on DCV data reporting that may be
accessed at http://www.dcvreport.org. School division personnel involved with the
collection and reporting of discipline, crime, and violence data are encouraged
to take advantage of this new resource.
Workshop participants will be expected to have reviewed the online
tutorial before attending workshops.

The workshops are being offered at no
charge to participants. Any lodging and travel expenses will be the
responsibility of the participant. Expenses may be paid from federal funding
already available to the school division under the Safe and Drug-Free Schools
Program.
Pre-registration is required and space
is limited to no more than 50 participants per workshop. Individuals may register online at:
