Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program – Grant Announcement |
The
Department of Education has received information announcing that up to $100
million is available to fund structural and planning hazard mitigation projects
through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA’s) Pre-Disaster
Mitigation (PDM)Program.
This program
funds cost-beneficial structural projects as well as development of hazard
mitigation plans. Eligible
sub-applicants include local governments, state agencies, and
FEMA has not
yet released the guidance documentation for this year’s grant cycle for PDM,
but the application period opened on November 1, 2006. The FY 2007 PDM project applications must be
fully completed and submitted to VDEM by 5 p.m. on January 5, 2007.
