SUBJECT: |
Public Schools’ Retention and
Disposition Schedule for Examination and Testing Records |
The growth of the Virginia Assessment Program has
made it necessary to update the current public schools’ retention and
disposition schedule for examination and testing records. Over the next six
months, the Virginia Department of Education will collaborate with the Library
of Virginia to facilitate the revision process for the Examination and Testing Records Series, General Schedule No. 21, as
required by the Virginia Public Records Act, §§ 42.1-76 et seq., Code of
Virginia.
The Division of Assessment and Reporting will work
with the division directors of testing and collect recommendations from the
eight regions of the state. The goal is to have the revised schedule effective
by June 1, 2007. Details will be
provided to the directors of testing under a separate cover.
If you have questions or need additional
information, please contact the Division of Assessment and Reporting by e-mail at darfax@doe.virginia.gov
or by telephone at (804) 225-2102.
