Humanities

Mathematics, Science, Technology
-
Agriculture
-
Visual and Performing Arts
-
Mentorship in Medicine and Life Sciences

These programs offer public, private,
and home-schooled gifted students opportunities for four or five weeks
of intensive study in academic areas, through mentorships, and in the visual
and performing arts of vocal and instrumental music, dance, theater, and
visual art. Each school division has a quota of students that may be nominated;
that quota is based on the September 30 membership in the sophomore
and junior classes of the locality. School divisions develop their own
intermediate deadlines in order to return nominations to the Department
of Education by February 13, 2002. Please refer to the attachment included
with Superintendent's Inf. Memorandum No. 147 for the dates and locations
of the programs and the dates and locations of the required statewide adjudication
for the visual and performing arts applicants.
