SUBJECT: Presidential Classroom

We are pleased to provide information about the Presidential Classroom programs. Since 1968 these programs have provided high school juniors and seniors with an opportunity to participate in civic education programs in Washington, D.C., where students are exposed firsthand to the operations of the federal government.

Participants in the Presidential Classroom spend a week in Washington, D. C. They meet with members of Congress, presidential appointees, senior military officials, and journalists. They observe Congress in action and visit the sites in our nationís capitol.

For program brochures on the week long programs that run from January to March and from June to July, please contact Ginger P. King, dean and chief operating officer of the Presidential Classroom at 1-800-441-6533 or visit their website at www.presidentialclassroom.org.

For further information, please contact Colleen C. Bryant (mailto:cbryant@mail.vak12ed.edu), secondary history and social science specialist, at (804) 786-4640.
