Vietnam Teachers Network |
The Vietnam
Veterans Memorial Fund is creating the Teach Vietnam Teachers Network as part
of the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Veterans
Memorial Wall. The memorial fund is recruiting two teachers from each state for
the teachers network. Teachers must apply to become a member of the network
and will be chosen based on experience and/or interest in teaching about
Vietnam.
Selected
teachers will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for a
four-day conference where they will be trained about the memorial funds
mission and programs. Upon returning to their home states, teachers will be
prepared to promote the memorial funds educational initiatives to fellow teachers.
An
application to become a member of the Teach Vietnam Teachers Network can be
acquired by contacting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund at (202)393-0090 or tedwards@vvmf.org. Applications must be postmarked
by March 22,2002, and notification will be made by April 30, 2002.
For further
information, please contact Colleen C. Bryant (cbryant@mail.vak12ed.edu), secondary
history and social science specialist, at (804) 786-4640.
