SUBJECT:

Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) Art Contest for Third-, Fourth-, and Fifth-Grade Students

The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), the annual giving campaign for state employees, requests that elementary schools provide third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade students with the opportunity to participate in the CVC Art Contest. All entries are due by March 22, 2002.

Details about the contest can be found at http://www.cvc.vipnet.org. The selected winning artwork will be featured on the campaign poster, website, and other promotional materials. Submitted artwork should communicate this years CVC theme of Opening Our Hearts to Help Others.

The winning student will receive a certificate of appreciation and a trophy that will be presented at the CVC Kickoff in October 2002. Honorable mention certificates of merit and trophies will be presented to two students. Winning student artwork will be showcased at state agencies such as the Virginia Department of Transportation and the Department of Rehabilitative Services.

Please encourage teachers and students to participate in this contest and help the CVC communicate its message. The artwork will be very important in the CVC effort to raise nearly $3.5 million for charity.
