Sample Curriculum Guide |
The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to
announce the development of the Visual
Arts Sample Curriculum Guide. This
instructional resource reflects the fine arts and academic core Standards of Learning and was developed
by the Department of Education in partnership with the Region VII Visual Arts
Curriculum Development Writing Project.
The Visual
Arts Sample Curriculum Guide consists of a set of sample benchmark
objectives that students are expected to achieve at each grade level or high
school course. The program is designed
to reflect the knowledge, processes, and skills essential to guide teaching and
learning and to enable teachers to place emphasis on critical areas of the
visual arts curriculum. Educators may
elect to adopt or revise this resource for use at the local level. The sample resource guide is available on
the Virginia Department of Educations Visual Arts website at http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Instruction/Art/art.html.
