Lowry Teacher of the Year Award |
The Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics (VCTM) recognizes classroom teachers for outstanding work and accomplishments in mathematics education with the William C. Lowry Teacher of the Year Award. Nominees may teach at the elementary, middle, secondary, or postsecondary level. All awards will be announced in the spring of 2003.
Nominees for
the William C. Lowry Award must:
The nominee
must be supported by a sponsor. Anyone
who is a current member of VCTM, school principal or headmaster, school
division superintendent, supervisor, director of instruction, college dean or
department head, or president of any National Council of Teachers of
Mathematics (NCTM) affiliate may sponsor a candidate. The sponsor should complete the nomination form located at www.vctm.org and include it with a letter of
support. Further instructions may be
found on the website. The materials
and evidence in support of the nominee should relate to the nominees
accomplishments during the five years prior to the nomination.
