The AAA
Travel High School Challenge is ready to begin. High school students in grades
9 through 12 throughout the United States are invited to put their geography
and travel knowledge to the test for a chance to win a trip to Universal
Orlando in Florida to compete in the national finals in May 2003. This
educational challenge features three exciting levels of competition with
$156,000 in college scholarship awards from the Hogan Family Foundation.
Schools can
download materials from www.aaa.com/TravelChallenge
for self-production. Or they can be ordered through AAA Print Services by
contacting Gary Smith for customized quotes at gsmith@national.aaa.com.
The challenge
begins in January 2003 with an online multiple choice test through the AAA Web
site. The top five scorers in each state and Washington, DC advance to the
state competition. In March the 255
quarter-final winners will take a second test at a select AAA club location in
their respective states. The top achiever in each state and Washington, DC win
a $1000 scholarship and a trip to Universal Orlando Florida to compete in the
national finals. The final event is in
May with the 51 state champions competing to determine the six national
finalists.
