Global Science Scholars |
The Lucent
Technologies Foundation is sponsoring an annual international competition to
identify and reward the academic excellence and achievements in science and
mathematics of 52 students. The Institute of International Education manages
the competition on behalf of the Lucent Technologies Foundation in Europe,
Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.
A $5000 cash
award will be presented to 23 graduating high school seniors in the United
States. In addition, winners will be
invited to participate with Bell Labs researchers and fellow Global Science
Scholars from around the world in the Global Summit for one week in July 2003.
Among the
eligibility criteria are: outstanding academic achievement in mathematics and
science, availability to attend the Global Summit, and United States
citizenship.
