Pledge of Freedom September 17, 2003 |
The mission of the National Society of
the Children of the American Revolution (N.S.C.A.R.) is to train good citizens,
develop leaders, and promote love of the United States and its heritage among
young people. In support of this mission the N.S.C.A.R. is sponsoring the
Pledge of Freedom. This program invites students across America to meet fellow
classmates at flagpoles on the morning of September 17, 2003. Students are
encouraged to dress in red, white, and blue and recite the Pledge of Allegiance
to the Flag of the United States of America and The Americans Creed. This will
commemorate the anniversary of the 1787 signing of the U.S. Constitution and
will honor those who have died in war on terrorism and in war for freedom
worldwide.
The N.S.C.A.R has developed materials
to aid schools in preparing for this event. The materials include a script for
a school assembly, teaching materials, public service announcements, and other information
to help plan a meaningful, patriotic event. These materials are available at: http://www.nscar.org.
