Marshall Foundations 20th Century Virginia Role Models Program |
I am pleased to bring to your attention the 20th
Century Virginia Role Models program sponsored by the George C. Marshall
Foundation. The materials in this
program support the Virginia Standards of Learning for middle schools in
English and history and social science.
The Role Models program is a five volume
curriculum set with accompanying audio CDs designed to enhance students
understanding of 20th century history and to support character
education. The program features Maggie
Walker, Woodrow Wilson, George C. Marshall, and other notable figures. These materials are supported with an
interactive website that may be accessed at www.20thcenturyrolemodels.org.
For more information, please contact Beverly Thurston (Beverly.Thurston.@doe.virginia.gov),
coordinator, history and social science, Office of Middle and High School
Instruction, at (804) 225-2893.
