The Virginia
Regional Middle School Science Bowl is a tournament-style, team competition
addressing topics in science, mathematics, and computer science. The 2007 competition is sponsored by the U.
S. Department of Energy and will take place Saturday, March 10, 2007, at the
Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (the Jefferson Lab) in
Each team
must consist of four or five middle school students
grades 6 through 8. All team members
must be from the same school and be accompanied by a team coach who is a
teacher from that school. Each team for
the state competition will be responsible for transportation and lodging
expenses for the team and coach.
Prizes for
first, second, and third place teams, including
trophies and funds for the schools science department will be awarded. The winning team will also continue to the
