SUBJECT:

The 2007 Richard Riley Award Submission Deadline

The American Architectural Foundation, in partnership with KnowledgeWorks Foundation, invites you to enter a submission for the Richard Riley Award. If your school is a center of community that demonstrates innovative design ideas and helps promote student achievement, your school could win a $10,000 prize.

Online submissions for the 2007 Richard Riley Award will be accepted until July 9. The winning public school will receive a $10,000 prize and be invited to Washington, D.C., for an awards ceremony where former U.S. Secretary of Education Richard Riley will present the award to the winning school. Eight schools will be chosen as members of the 2007 honor society and highlighted on the Richard Riley Award Web site.

To date, 75 elementary and secondary schools have applied from over 25 states. All public schools, new and old, including charter schools, are eligible to submit entries for the award until July 9.

Visit www.richardrileyaward.org to register your school to win. The American Architectural Foundation and the KnowledgeWorks Foundation are looking for the school that best exemplifies the growing trend to build and design schools as centers of community.
