2008 Inspiration Awards and the Bob Costas Grants for the Teaching of Writing |
The
College Board invites applications for the 2008 Inspiration Awards and the 2008
Bob Costas Grants for the Teaching of Writing. These
awards allow the College Board to showcase the outstanding work that is being
done in schools throughout the nation.
The deadline for submission of applications is November 16, 2007.
Each
spring the College Board presents Inspiration Awards, including grants of
$25,000 each, to three of
The
Bob Costas Grants recognize six exceptional teachers
of grades 6 through 12 for the innovative methods they use to develop their
students' writing skills. The College Board will award grants of $3,000 to each
winner. Winning teachers receive grants to enhance successful projects
currently under way. We encourage teachers from all academic disciplines to
apply.
The
award was named for Bob Costas, the Emmy
Award-winning broadcaster and author, for his dedication to the craft of
writing and his generous public service work on behalf of the National
Commission on Writing.
