SUBJECT: Response to Intervention Institute at The College of William and Mary May 19, 2008

 

The School of Education at The College of William and Mary is hosting a one-day institute on Response to Intervention on May 19, 2008, at the Williamsburg Hospitality House. Dr. Joseph Kovaleski, professor of educational and school psychology and director of the program in school psychology at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, will be the presenter. Participants will gain:

         Understanding of the Response to Intervention (RtI) process and its connection to legislation;

         Understanding of ways to re-conceptualize support services within a three-tier model of service delivery;

         Knowledge to design an infrastructure needed to support an RtI process;

         Knowledge to design evidence-based practices for tiers I and II (universal and secondary); and

         Knowledge to evaluate evidence-based practices for tiers I and II.
