In recognition of October 2010 as National Principals Month, please see the attached letter from United States Senator, Mark R. Warner. Senator Warner commends principals for their hard work and dedication and offers his best wishes for continued progress and success.
Principals play a key role to the success of the teaching and learning that takes place within the school environment. As included within the Regulations for Establishing Standards for Accrediting Public Schools in Virginia (8 VAC 20-131-210), Virginia's principals are charged with being instructional leaders who are responsible for effective school management that promotes positive student achievement, a safe and secure environment in which to teach and learn, and efficient use of resources.
