The Davidson Institute for Talent Development, a nonprofit operating foundation, is focused on recognizing, nurturing, and supporting profoundly intelligent young people and providing opportunities for them to develop their talents to make a positive difference. In order to fulfill this mission, the Davidson Institute offers several programs and services that support profoundly intelligent young people, their families, and the educators that serve them. Several scholarships in the amounts of $10,000, $25,000, and $50,000 are awarded annually to recognize outstanding students in science, mathematics, technology, literature, music, philosophy or outside the box. The Virginia Association for the Gifted (VAG) is a statewide organization of parents, educators, and community leaders that advocates appropriate instruction for all gifted learners. As part of its mission, the VAG provides scholarships to students and recognition and awards to individuals who are instrumental in the field of gifted education in Virginia. Several student scholarships ranging from $100 to $500 are awarded annually. Similarly, professional grants in the amount of $500 are awarded annually to support innovative ideas for gifted learners.
