SUBJECT: Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation – Call for Nominations for Three 2011 Competitions: Agriscience Awards, Life Sciences Awards, & Homeland Security Awards
The Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation, a Federal government agency with the mission of promoting and encouraging new discoveries, announces the program's Call for Nominations for three 2011 competitions: eight Agriscience Awards, seven Life Sciences Awards, and four Homeland Security Awards.
A brief description of each award is listed below:
- Agriscience Awards
Nominations for the Agriscience Awards are accepted online only at: www.agriscienceawards.com. The Agriscience Awards competition will present: two $25,000 awards to scientists, with an additional $25,000 in funds for research for each scientist; three $10,000 awards to high school educators; and three $5,000 awards to high school students, who are judged to exemplify excellence in the field of agriscience. Please visit the Web site above for Competition Rules and Regulations. The Nomination deadline is Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
- Life Sciences Awards
Nominations for the Life Sciences Awards are accepted online only at: www.ccolumbusfoundationawards.org. The Life Sciences Awards competition will present: one $25,000 award to a scientist, with additional $25,000 in funds for research; three $10,000 awards to high educators; and three $5,000 awards to high school students, who are judged to exemplify excellence in life sciences. Please visit the Web site above for Competition Rules and Regulations. The Nomination deadline is Tuesday, April 5, 2011.
- Homeland Security Awards
Nominations for the Homeland Security Awards are accepted online only at: www.ccolumbusfoundationawards.org. A $25,000 Homeland Security Award will be presented in each of the following four fields: 1) Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Chemical and Explosive Attacks; 2) Border and Transportation Security; 3) Cyber Security and Information Sharing; and 4) Emergency Response to Natural and Man-made Disasters.
