The National Network for Early Language Learning (NNELL) is pleased to announce a southeast regional professional development workshop for K–8 foreign language teachers to take place May 7, 2011, at Laurel Ridge Elementary School in Fairfax, Virginia.
NNELL regional and summer workshops help meet the need for appropriate professional development of a growing number of elementary and middle school foreign language teachers. Virginia supports early language learning and recognizes the value of longer sequences of well-articulated language study in the development of language proficiency.
The workshop is entitled Happiness All Around (Students, Teachers, Parents, Administrators): More Proficient Students, and features a three-hour morning session by Greg Duncan, President of InterPrep, Inc. Mr. Duncan, a foreign language educator for more than 35 years, is an independent consultant who serves K–12 schools, teacher preparation institutions, and other educationally focused entities throughout the United States and abroad. Registration information and further details are available from the NNELL Web site at http://www.nnell.org.
