The Virginia Middle School Association (VMSA) is pleased to announce that the annual Virginia Middle School Association Conference will be held Friday, November 4, 2011, at James Madison University’s Festival Conference Center, Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Author and national presenter, Rick Wormeli, will provide the keynote address on “Formative and Summative Assessment in the Differentiated Classroom.” Conference sessions will focus on best instructional and assessment practices, best equitable practices in eliminating the achievement gap, and middle level leadership for the 21st century. Additionally, Virginia middle schools designated as “Schools to Watch” will share their strategies for meeting the needs of the middle level learner.
Conference registration and lodging information are available at the VMSA Web site, http://www.vmsa.org/conference.htm. Registration forms must be submitted by October 14, 2011.
