The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and the Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals (VAESP) are pleased to announce that the VAESP Annual Conference will be held June 27-30, 2012, at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel, 2800 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia. The purpose of this VDOE and VAESP jointly sponsored annual event is to develop and enhance elementary and middle school administrator and lead teacher leadership skills, increase their understanding of current educational issues, and expand their knowledge base for success.
The theme of this year's conference is "Stand by Me" (http://webertv.com/vaesp062812.htm). Conference sessions will focus on instructional leadership, academic accountability, the new teacher and principal evaluation guidelines, best practices, educational policy, teacher quality, school management, and community involvement/partnerships.
To be considered for inclusion in the conference program as a breakout speaker, you or members of your staff are invited to submit the 2012 Call for Presentations Application available on the VAESP Web site http://vaesp.org under Conferences – Speakers. The presentation form must be returned by April 1, 2012. Please mail or fax your form to VAESP, 1805 Chantilly Street, Richmond, Virginia 23230. VAESP will notify selected speakers in April.
