The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce a
fourth round of requests for proposals under a federal transition
project entitled, Project UNITE (UNified Intercommunity

project offers local school divisions, in collaboration with
local rehabilitation and other adult service agencies, an
opportunity to develop programs and systemic changes that promote
improved school to post-school transition outcomes for all youths
with disabilities.  Such changes may reflect new or expanded
initiatives within your local school division.  Awards will be
made competitively to those local school divisions who have not
been funded during 1993, 1994, or 1995 by Project UNITE.

Enclosed, please find the request for proposal, the instructions
for completing the proposal, and other information relating to
the review and award process, available funds for the projects,
and the estimated size and number of awards. RFPs must be
received by Dr. Sharon deFur, Virginia Department of Education,
