| SUBJECT: | General Adult Education (GAE) Applications for FY 1996-97 |
The General Assembly has appropriated $1,051,800 for
reimbursement of the General Adult Education Program for
fiscal year 1996-97. This appropriation is subject to the
approval by the Governor. Final reimbursement will be based
on 60% of fixed cost-per-class or fixed cost-per-student-slot
(External Diploma Program only) as defined in the
"Instructions for Preparing Program Application and Request
for Reimbursement for General Adult Education Program."
Eligible classes for reimbursement for fiscal year 1996-97
include Adult High School classes for credit, General
Educational Development (GED) Preparatory, Americanization,
and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. To assist
you in initiating your General Adult Education Program for
fiscal year 1996-97, copies of the forms to be used in
submitting your "Program Application for General Adult
Education" have been attached.
Please submit the forms no later than April 30, 1996. If no
program is planned, write on the face of the form your
school division and division code and "NO PROGRAM PLANNED."
All copies of the program application are to be mailed to:
