School Nutrition Programs Orientation for Newly
Appointed School Food Service Directors or Supervisors |
School Nutrition Programs has scheduled an orientation for school food service directors, supervisors, or contact persons who are responsible for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs and who were appointed within the past two years. This orientation will provide an opportunity for new directors and supervisors to gain an understanding of the program requirements for effective management of the federally funded school nutrition programs and to meet with SNP staff. The agenda includes a discussion of the School Breakfast and National School Lunch Program requirements, financial and nutritional integrity, accountability, procurement, department review procedures, reporting and record keeping requirements, and available resources. The orientation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on August 20 and is scheduled to adjourn by 12:00 on August 22. All sessions will be held in the Personnel Development Center, Room 2 in the James Monroe Building 101 N. 14th Street. Travel expenses (hotel, transportation, meals, etc.) will be the responsibility of the school division. School food service funds may be used for this purpose. If your school division has recently employed a food service director or contact person who will attend the inservice, please complete the attached registration form and send to Edna Cheatom, School Nutrition Programs.
