Collection - 1995-96 School Year |
Enclosed are forms to be completed for the collection of division data on incidents of crime, violence, and substance abuse in Virginia's public schools for school year 1995-96. This data has been collected annually since 1991 by the Department of Education as stipulated in the Code of Virginia 22.1-280.1. The information requested on these forms is the same as for 1994-95, with the exception of one addition. Table 12 requires information about student expulsions for weapons possession. This is in compliance with the Gun-Free Schools Act of 1994 and 22.1-277.01, Code of Virginia. Additionally, information about suspensions and expulsions is requested to respond to Senate Joint Resolution 85, passed by the 1996 General Assembly.
