This document was developed and published under the leadership of the Virginia Department of Health in collaboration with the Department of Education, through a joint venture with the Virginia Institute for Developmental Disabilities and Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Nursing, Community Nursing Organization. Such a document has been in great demand and we believe that it will be of significant benefit to school and public health personnel who care for students with special health care needs. Under separate cover, we will be shipping to each central office enough copies of the manual for each school in your division. Your assistance in distributing these will be greatly appreciated.
