Requests for Proposal and Availability of Funds Under
Project UNITE (UNified Intercommunity Transition and Empowerment for Youths with Disabilities (USDOE Award #H158A20015) |
The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce a fifth round of requests for proposals under a federal transition project entitled, Project UNITE (UNified Intercommunity Transition and Empowerment for Youths With Disabilities). This project offers local school divisions, in collaboration with local rehabilitation and other adult service agencies, an opportunity to develop programs or systemic changes that promote improved school to post-school transition outcomes for all youths with disabilities. Such changes may reflect new or expanded initiatives within your local school division. Awards will be made competitively to those local school divisions who have not been funded during 1993, 1994, 1995, or 1996 by Project UNITE. Enclosed, please find the request for proposal, the instructions for completing the proposal, and other information relating to the review and award process, available funds for the projects, and the estimated size and number of awards. RFPs must be received by Dr.Sharon deFur, Virginia Department of Education, P.O. Box 2120, Richmond, VA 23216-2120, by 5:00 p.m. on April 18, 1996. Please be advised that any applications received after that time will not be considered.
