  The 1994-1995 School Health Advisory Board Annual Summary
  Report is available for distribution.  Section 22.1-275.1
  of the Code of Virginia requires school divisions to submit
  annual reports on the status and needs of student health to
  any relevant school, the school board, the Virginia
  Department of Education and the Virginia Department of
  Health.  

  The summary report includes statewide information regarding
  the following:
  -       Board membership;
  -       meeting frequency;
  -       local reporting practices;
  -       operating procedures;
  -       development of policies, programs, and evaluation
          plans;
  -       accomplishments;
  -       factors contributing to effectiveness and/or
          limitations; 
  -       comparisons of school years 1993-94 and 1994-95
          data; and
  -       contact persons. 

  To order copies of the 1994-1995 School Health Advisory
  Board Annual Summary Report, complete the attached order
  form.

  The Virginia Department of Health in collaboration with the
  Department of Education is in the process of contracting
  with a public university to (1) complete the reporting
  process by the School Health Advisory Boards (SHAB) for
  1995-96; (2) re-engineer the SHAB reporting process for
  1996-97 by (a) assessing and evaluating the current
  reporting procedures, (b) analyzing the reporting procedures
  for cost-effective process improvements, and (c)
  implementing and maintaining automated SHAB reporting
  procedures; and (3), based upon the re-engineering, develop
  an interactive World Wide website for users to report and
  access local SHAB reports.  Questions about the School
