and Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel |
On February 26, 1997, the Virginia Board of Education reviewed proposed Licensure Regulations for School Personnel. The Virginia Board of Education also reviewed proposed Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel on June 27, 1996. These proposals were approved for distribution to interested persons and organizations throughout the state to receive public comment prior to final adoption by the Board. Enclosed are copies of the documents for your information. Three public hearings will be held on September 17, 1997, as part of the public comment process. The purpose of these hearings is for the Board of Education to receive comments or recommendations concerning the proposed licensure and technology regulations. All public hearings begin at 7:00 p.m. Registration for those wishing to speak begins at 6:30 p.m. Speakers are requested to limit their remarks to three minutes each. In the event a large number of persons request to speak, the hearing chairman may request that the time limit for each speaker be shortened to less than three minutes. A written copy of remarks is requested. Public hearings are scheduled on Wednesday, September 17, as follows: Alexandria Williamsburg Francis C.
