Pursuant to provisions of "Regulations Governing Pupil Transportation and Minimum Standards for School Buses in Virginia, July 1, 1994" the following approved specifications are enclosed for certain makes of school bus chassis for 1998 models. AM TRAN 42-54-66-72-78-84 Passenger Diesel Air Brake Genesis Transit Models. 66-72-78-84 RE BLUE BIRD 42-48-54-66-72-78-84 Passenger TC2000 FE transit models. 66-72-78 passenger TC2000 RE transit models. 84 passenger AARE transit model. 34-52-64 Pass. SBCV models. 37 Pass TSFE Model- Conventional Models. TCEV ELECTRIC NAVISTAR 34-52-64 Passenger Diesel Hydraulic Brake models, and 52-64 passenger diesel air brake conventional models. 41-53-65/71 passenger modified conventional models 3600 series special needs chassis. THOMAS 42-54-66-72-78-84 Passenger MVP-FE Diesel Air Brake, and 66-72-78-84 passenger MVP-RE diesel air brake. 78 passenger MVP-RE CNG powered air brake model. Air Brake -Pilot Only The option code (s) shown for some specified items has been furnished by the manufacturer for the purpose of aiding dealers in preparing orders for production. The option codes may not be complete and they are subject to frequent changes. Dealers should contact their chassis manufacturer's zone/district office for the latest information on ordering codes. The responsibility for manufacturing and selling buses which comply with standards and specifications rests with manufacturers and dealers. The responsibility for purchasing buses which meet requirements rests with division superintendents and local school boards. Specifications for other buses powered by compressed natural gas are being developed and will be available on a request basis.
