| FROM: | Paul D. Stapleton
Superintendent of Public Instruction |
| SUBJECT: | Report of Combined (Regular and Summer) Term Graduates, 1997-98 |
The Report of Combined Term (Regular and Summer School) Graduates for the 1997-98 school year should be completed for all secondary schools in your school division and returned to the Department of Education no later than Thursday, September 3, 1998. Additional information required for the School Performance Report Card is requested in this report (refer to Informational Supts. Memo. No. 53, dated April 3, 1998). A separate count of the number of graduates receiving the General Educational Development (GED) certificate and the number of students who did not receive a diploma or certificate are requested. In addition, information is requested on the number of students in the International Baccalaureate Program and the number of graduates receiving International Baccalaureate (IB) diplomas. Identification of each school division's contact person for 1997-98 should be indicated on page 3 of the form for the Report of Combined Term Graduates. This information will also be requested in the School Administration data collection in July 1998. If your school has no graduates, return the school form marked "NONE." If there are no summer graduates to be reported, the report should be completed for only the regular term and may be returned to the Department prior to the due date. To avoid duplicate reporting, the form should not be completed for centers (vocational/technical, special education, alternative education, etc.) to which students who are officially enrolled at other schools travel to receive specialized instruction or training. Each contact person for the Report of Graduates should coordinate the collection of the forms for each school in the division and submit them to the Department by the due date. The forms may be submitted by fax [(804) 371-8978] or mailed to: Susie Bland Report of Graduates Coordinator Division of Management Information Systems Virginia Department of Education P. O.
