  Each year the Department of Education requests Division
  Superintendents to designate  Division Directors of Testing. 
  This memo conveys the request for the 1998-99 school year. 
  The Division Directors of Testing are the official contacts
  for all activities related to state assessment programs.  It
  is to these persons that all state assessment-related
  correspondence and questions are directed by the Department.

  You are being asked in this memo to designate: (1) a
  Division Director of Testing for the Literacy Passport
  Testing (LPT) Program, and (2) a Division Director of
  Testing for the Standards of Learning and norm-referenced
  program (the Stanford).  These designations may, as in the
  past, be the same person.

  Attached is a listing of the Division Directors of Testing
  designated by you for the previous (1997-98) school year. 
  Please use this form to update your designations of Division
  Directors of Testing for 1998-99, and review and correct
  mailing and shipping addresses and phone/fax numbers.  These
  forms should be returned to the Division of Assessment and
  Reporting by July 1, 1998.  Questions should be directed to
  the staff of the Division of Assessment and Reporting at
