SUBJECT:	Estimated Title VI Allocations for the 1998-99 School Year

  The Virginia Department of Education has been notified of an
  estimated allocation of $7,880,375.00 for Title VI -
  Innovative Education Program Strategies of the Improving
  America's Schools Act of 1994.  The U.S. Department of
  Education has advised that the amount of the allocation is an
  estimate; therefore, there could be a change in the final
  amount.   

  The attached table of estimated allocations shows the local
  distribution of formula funds for Innovative Education Program
  Strategies for the 1998-99 school year.  Please use the
  estimated allocations for program planning purposes and in
  developing your application.
