SUBJECT: Correction to Superintendent's Advisory Council Minutes

  
  In Supts. Memo No. 16 (Informational) dated January 30, 1998,
  reporting on the meeting of the Superintendent's Advisory
  Council on January 16, part of the last item (Technology
  Update) should read as follows:

   He (Lan Neugent) called attention to the Universal
     Service E-Rate Discount Program, and said superintendents
     will have 75 (not 25) days from a date to be determined
     (tentatively January 26 or 30) to submit applications for
     services such as telephones and the internet for public
     schools.  Mr. Neugent now has been informed that the
     cutoff date is set for January 30.
